Chris Benson is an amateur chef and recent graduate from the University of Washington's Graduate Coordinated Program in Dietetics. She has a master's degree in Public Health Nutrition and is eligible to take the examination for Registered Dietitians. Previously, she worked as a researcher and health policy advocate with the Center for Public Health Nutrition, the Childhood Obesity Prevention Coalition and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Her thesis on food waste programs and activities of public agencies at the state and local level was recently accepted for publication in the Journal of Hunger and Environmental Nutrition. Her passion is addressing health disparities by disseminating nutrition information and resources to communities in need. In her spare time, she creates healthy and affordable recipes easily replicated for you and your family.
